“Freedom Isn’t Free.”
The phrase usually relates to the freedoms we fight for against the despot regimes of the world.
But thanks to a historic Supreme Court decision, our internal 1st Amendment Freedoms have also been successfully fought for with respect to Religious Liberty.
No longer will religious organizations rank as second-class entities. No longer will they be excluded from the public square.
Trinity Lutheran Child Learning Center understood that religious liberty isn’t free. They chose to fight for religious freedom all the way to the Supreme Court, to fight for their right to compete and receive a Missouri grant in support of safe playgrounds.
And they won 7-2. Their victory is a huge win against all sorts of state sponsored discrimination based on fake constitutional opinions.
They also taught us a lesson.
Religious Freedom isn’t free. It is worth fighting for.
