Nothing can substitute spending quality time with your children during the summer months.

And there’s still plenty of time for you to schedule some time with those you hold the dearest.

For busy dads like me, this is when I can play catch-up for all those afternoons I missed with my son Zachary while I’m broadcasting my radio show or busy away at the state legislature in Tallahassee.

I’ve just experienced one of my most memorable weeks to date with Zach in the Appalachian mountains of North Carolina. As I huffed and puffed to keep up with his daily mountain hikes along with his fellow Trail Life USA Troop 7 members, I found myself smiling on numerous occasions for his boundless energy, openness to strangers and his love for the Lord and His Creation.

It’s a week together we both will eternally cherish.
