“June Consumer Inflation Rate at 40 Year High”
The June Consumer Price Index is out, and it was a figure no one expected.
Among some analysts’ speculation that inflation had somehow peaked, we learned that inflation has nowhere peaked but shot up to a staggering 9.1%. And that number is a 40-year high for the month of June.
Although gasoline prices have come down slightly, the prices for what we must buy daily continue to climb.
Millions of Americans are taking emergency steps to maintain some semblance of a household budget.
Low-income earners and seniors who depend on Social Security as their sole income are hurt the most. Higher-income earners are still able to weather the storm.
The Federal Reserve will continue to raise rates until inflation comes back down.
