Some liberal cities for weeks have been demanding that law enforcement agencies be defunded, with those funds reallocated to social services.
But is that message resonating with the whole of America?
An ABC/Washington Post poll is shedding some light on the issue.
In the poll, only 40% would support defunding police to spend more on social services, with 55% in opposition. 63% oppose reparations to those who are descendants of enslaved ancestors, with 31% in support.
The Black Lives movement saw 63% support, 69% saying Black people and other minorities are not treated equally in the criminal justice system.
Drastic reforms called for by the far left are rejected in this poll while acknowledging much work is left to eliminate racism and discrimination in America.
