"By The Numbers: Floridians Say Veto SB 106 Wheaties/Whiskey Wall Bill"
I’m Bill Bunkley with Something To Think About.
Governor Rick Scott has until Wednesday to decide on SB 106, the Wheaties & Whiskey Wall bill.
You know, that’s the bill that not a single constituent came to Tallahassee asking for its passage.
As of noon, Monday 6,751 Floridians have contacted Governor Scott to veto the liquor expansion bill while only 969 were in support. Floridians by an overwhelming margin do not want hard liquor sold on the family friendly shelves of big box stores like Walmart and Target.
By email 2,684 were opposed, 436 in support. By letter 572 opposed, 7 supported. By phone 250 were opposed, 526 in support. By petition 3,245 were opposed while 0 were in support.
Floridians are clearly saying veto.
And it’s those same Floridians the Governor hopes to have on his side should he decide to make his run for the U. S. Senate.
