“Florida’s DOGE Begins City & County Government Audits”
Bill Bunkley’s “This Is Something to Think About”
Air Date Wednesday, July 23, 2025
Following the success of President Trump's DOGE audits as implemented by Elon Musk, Florida is following suit.
The Florida Department of Government Efficiency, DOGE, will begin audits of city and county governments.
First up is Broward County and the City of Gainesville. On-site inspections commence on July 31st.
Auditors will examine how local governments are spending the revenue allocated to them by the state of Florida. At the top of their list will be indications of waste, fraud, or abuse. Compensation, contracts, and DEI initiatives will also be subject to audit.
Municipalities who have thus far refused to cooperate with state requests for accountability will be the first to undergo audits.
Newly appointed Florida CFO Blaise Ingoglia will oversee the audit process. I can attest to his tough, tenacious approach to government accountability.
