“Florida: New Home for 319,000 Americans in 2022”
Anybody who has been here for any time knows that something is drastically changing in the Free State of Florida just by driving around. Our roads are clogged with newcomers and, of course, visitors.
According to the National Association of Realtors, 319,000 Americans moved into Florida in 2022, representing THE largest in-migration of any state.
New York and California, conversely, are THE biggest migration exporters.
According to tax revenue reports, New York lost just under $300 million in taxes, while California lost $343 million last year due to exiting residents.
But Florida, the beneficiary of disgruntled high-tax transplants, gained a whopping increase of $12.4 billion; that’s a billion with a B.
Americans are voting their pocketbooks and values when it comes to where to live.
And their votes are telling.
