“Are You a Windshield or a Rear-View Mirror Thinker

Bill Bunkley’s “This Is Something to Think About”

Air Date Thursday, August 7, 2025

How we live our lives has a lot to do with a basic question: Are we looking ahead as if we are looking forward through a car windshield or do we spend most of our time looking back through the rear-view mirror.

Will Rodgers was quoted as saying “Don’t let yesterday take up too much of today.”

Each day we are faced with a myriad of decisions, some important, some very routine. How and what we think the most about subconsciously usually guides those decisions.

That’s why it’s important to be intentional about your thought life.

The Apostle Paul encouraged Christian believers in Phillipi to do one thing: Forget what lies behind and strain forward to what lies ahead.

The past is already documented in the historical pages of your life, good or bad, but what lies ahead, that’s where you are writing the next chapter.

Don’t let your past rule your future.
