In life we all face some difficult situations that sometimes present some very steep challenges and obstacles. Often, we may respond in a knee-jerk reaction when our emotions take center stage.
Our first reaction is to look upon the challenge as a steep brick wall. We begin to worry and think about the worst-case outcome. It is at this point that you must take control over your emotions, especially in the light that 90 to 92% of things we worry do not come to fruition.
A better way to evaluate a challenge is to look at new opportunities that may present themselves. It is a reflection point whereby you may learn something to advance beyond the seemingly brick wall.
The lessons of life are usually our best teachers.
Just like the typical pattern of stocks, a little pull back before a big move forward is all too common. So are the challenges of life.
Bill Bunkley is a 19-year veteran Salem Media talk show host based in Tampa. The Bill Bunkley Show airs weekdays from 3 to 6 pm across central Florida. Bill is also President of the Florida Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission and the legislative consultant to the Florida Baptist State Convention (Southern Baptist Convention Churches), among other churches and entities. By the Grace of his Lord Jesus, he is today a cancer survivor diagnosed in 2018 with AML Leukemia, having successfully undergone a bone marrow transplant that same year. His wife is Toni, son is Zac, and they attend Idlewild Baptist Church.
