If you have received your COVID vaccination from Pfizer, there is new data that you need to know. A recent study on its effectiveness, or rather, its ineffectiveness, may cause you to revaluate how you choose to protect yourself further. Each month that passes since you received your vaccination brings decreased protection, which is true of all vaccines.
However, Pfizer’s effectiveness is cause for awareness.
The Mayo Clinic study found that Pfizer’s effectiveness against infection in July dropped to only 42%. That is in comparison to Moderna’s 76%.
That may explain why so many Israelis vaccinated solely with the Pfizer vaccine; nearly 100% of the population is now contracting the Delta variant.
All of us need to keep up to date on the effectiveness of our vaccines.
