“Target Pays the Price for Woke-Pride Merchandise”
Target's latest earnings report was not good news for the company. Target was targeted for its prominent, front-of-the-store displays promoting woke-pride merchandise.
Comparative Target store sales dropped 5.4%, while the last quarter's sales of $24.8 billion in total revenue were 4.9% lower than last year.
The CEO of Target, Brian Cornell, acknowledged this in a call with the press. He admitted the backlash saying: "As we navigate an ever-changing operating and social environment, we are applying what we have learned."
What he learned was that prominently displaying "tuck friendly" male swimsuits and other Woke-Pride items at the very front of their stores offended a large base of their regular customers.
When Christians and conservatives vote with their pocketbooks, retailers will respond. Their bottom line is making profits.
