One of the essential tools we use all day, every day, is communication. Those who master the various ways in which we communicate tend to be very successful people.

Honest and truthful communication is the foundation for building healthy interactions with others.

Active listening is a powerful tool for improving communication skills. Remember, God created us with two ears and one mouth for a reason.

Our productivity is tied to how well we accurately understand the expectations of others. Ask questions for clarity to achieve maximum comprehension.

Don’t forget we often communicate more through our nonverbal responses, such as body language, maintaining eye contact, nodding, tone of voice, and facial expressions.

Becoming a better communicator is a journey that requires daily effort. Stay motivated and see how much more efficient your day can become.

Bill Bunkley is a 19-year veteran Salem Media talk show host based in Tampa. The Bill Bunkley Show airs weekdays from 3 to 6 pm across central Florida. Bill is also President of the Florida Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission and the legislative consultant to the Florida Baptist State Convention (Southern Baptist Convention Churches), among other churches and entities. He has served as the legislative consultant to the Florida Baptist State Convention for the last 29 years at the state capitol in Tallahassee. By the Grace of his Lord Jesus, he is today a cancer survivor diagnosed in 2018 with AML Leukemia, having successfully undergone a bone marrow transplant that same year. His wife is Toni, son is Zac, and they attend Idlewild Baptist Church.
