“Promise Keeping”
Bill Bunkley’s “This Is Something to Think About”
Air Date Tuesday, August 19, 2025
If I were to ask you on a scale of 1 to 10 how reliable you are at keeping your promises, how would you rate yourself?
Keeping your promise is a simple process of following through on what you have indicated you would do with another or yourself. It is one of the chief indicators by which others will judge you.
It is not possible to keep all your promises 100%. Various factors may arise that preclude you from delivering on every promise.
But consistently failing to keep promises will have others questioning your integrity and trustworthiness. Keeping a promise, even if it costs you personally, can pay dividends in the long run, as others will notice your high personal standards.
Before making a promise, ensure you don't overcommit and that it's something you can keep, rather than something said on the fly.
If you make a promise, mean it and keep it.
