President Donald Trump delivered a pivotal speech at Virginia’s Ft. Myer Army Base, emphasis on pivot.
Trump distinguished himself with a firm and well-communicated outline of his military and economic objectives concerning Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India.
Unlike President Obama’s policy of tying the hands of our warriors with “rules of engagement” so restrictive that when terrorists were spotted, they were allowed to escape. Our warriors are now free to do their job.
Bluntly, President Trump is ending our nation building and pledged to kill terrorists and fight to “win” the war on terror. He vowed not to repeat Obama’s mistake in Iraq by withdrawing our troops in Afghanistan and leaving a terrorist vacuum.
I never want to see additional brave soldiers deployed to a hot zone like Afghanistan, but I agree with the President that fighting terrorism over there still keeps us safer here.
