Imagine driving around Los Angeles where traffic moves at a snail’s pace. Imagine if southern California were subject to hurricanes and gazillions of people had to get out in crawling traffic in a mandatory hurricane evacuation.
Well, like it or not, that traffic jam is coming to Florida as 900 plus people a day are moving here.
That’s why a recent public meeting in Tampa concerning the Florida Department of Transportation’s M-CORES project, short for “Multi-use Corridors of Economic Significance” is visionary and should be built out.
The three proposed corridors would extend the Suncoast Parkway to Georgia, connect the Turnpike to the Suncoast Parkway and link Collier to Polk County.
Let’s face it, new residents WITH CARS are coming. We better get prepared as best we can.
