The University of Tampa has become a national topic.
As the country focused on the human suffering in southeast Texas by Hurricane Harvey, now ex-professor at UT Kenneth L. Storey decided to wax, without elegance, that Texas’ role in electing President Trump was the cause of the catastrophe.
In the most insensitive and inappropriate comments one could ever imagine, Professor Storey tweeted “I don’t believe in instant karma, but this kinda feels like it for Texas. Hopefully this will help them realize the GOP doesn’t care about them.” Later he added “I’m only blaming those who support the GOP there.”
Well, parents of his students were appropriately outraged, as well they should have been. And unlike many other more liberal leaning universities who may have embraced the professor’s heartless assessment, UT sent him packing.
UT is right in relieving this professor of his teaching platform.
