In one evening, the hunkered down faithful in Tampa Bay got a “twofer” they will long remember.

First, The Tampa Bay Lightning communicates loud and clear to the hockey world that they haven’t forgotten last year’s unexpected quick elimination in the playoffs. They are in the Stanley Cup finals.

Second, how about our Tampa Bay Rays. In this short season schedule, they have dominated their Eastern Division foes New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox to claim a playoff spot, and hopefully, a division championship to come.

Add to that, a national focus on Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and you have a dominating spot in the nation’s sports conversations.

Next step, a Stanley Cup Championship and a World Series Championship in one year.

Now that’s bragging rights!
