If you didn’t catch the Tampa Bay Rays stellar performance in a sold-out, towel-waving, frenzied Oakland Collesium last night, you missed something very special.
You might have thought you were watching the Bronx Bombers with Aaron Judge leading a team effort of Yankee Home Run Derby.
But you would have been wrong.
The home run bombers of last night bore the names of Avisail Garcia, Tommy Pham, and straight off an injury Yandy Diaz, who made history by not belting one but two homers!
When it was all over, the rays won 5 – 1 and are heading to face the Houston Astros in the MLB playoffs Friday night.
To a person, every ESPN on-air personality chose the A’s to win. They were wrong.
The “against all odds” Rays are moving on, sporting the cheapest payroll in the league.
You go, Rays.
