“Seminole Indian Tribe in a Federal Courtroom Today”
Bill Bunkley with Something to Think About
Today, the Seminole Tribe of Florida faces a federal lawsuit inside a Washington, DC courtroom over its new gambling agreement with the state.
No Casino’s President John Sowinski previously filed a 40-page lawsuit outlining why the new agreement violates the Florida Constitution.
The tribe seeks to add three new casinos to its’s South Florida Hard Rock gambling complex, making it a massive Las Vegas Strip type of destination.
It also seeks to add exclusive sports betting all across the state at pari-mutuel facilities and online. No Casinos say that the sports betting component violates a provision in the state constitution that requires voters to ok any gambling expansion.
I agree.
All bets made offsite of a Seminole Indian Reservation property must receive voter approval.
