Shock and disbelief hit again on U. S. soil, this time from tiny Southerland Springs, Texas, just southeast of San Antonio.
It was at a small Southern Baptist Church of about 400; 26 shot dead including 8 members of the same family, 20 wounded. An 18 month old infant is confirmed among the dead.
After witnessing other church atrocities around the world, Americans are coming to grips that evil knows no boundaries.
Devin Kelly who fired from behind a “skull” head mask, was a mentally troubled, vocal atheist who sent threatening texts to a member of that congregation, his mother-in-law.
In response, Christian churches must be vigilant concerning congregational safety and security; but must never forget that their mission is not to be closed hotels for saints, but rather open hospitals for sinners.
Sadly, this sinner didn’t embrace the help the Christian church had to offer.
