Commissioners in Citrus County said thanks, but no thanks, to the New York Times.

The “Old Grey Lady” was seeking to expand its influence into one of Florida’s most conservative counties. But that dog didn’t hunt!

The Times has a public library program that affords Citrus County the opportunity, for an annual fee of $3,000, access for county residents to their electronic newspaper edition.

 All five Citrus Commission members voted no in lockstep. County Commissioner Scott Carnahan probably summed up the commission’s thoughts about the Times by proclaiming, “Fake news, I agree with President Trump. I don’t agree with it, and I don’t like ‘em, its fake news, and I’m voting no.”

And that’s another reminder of the President’s support in America’s “fly over communities.”
