85-year-old former Democrat Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, revered by liberals, despised by conservatives, is finally calling it quits after 40 years in Congress.
Sadly, Pelosi was an extreme supporter of abortion rights, opposing the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act, and was a critic of the Hyde Amendment that barred government funds for abortion. She was responsible for passing what I call the Unaffordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare.
Another controversy was members of Congress trading on insider stock information. Her husband, Paul Pelosi, allegedly made millions on NVIDIA, GOOGLE, Apple & Visa, all of which moved in response to congressional action or votes.
Nancy Pelosi departs Congress with a disappointing legacy.
Bill Bunkley is a 19-year veteran Salem Media talk show host based in Tampa. The Bill Bunkley Show airs weekdays from 3 to 6 pm across central Florida. Bill is also President of the Florida Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission and the legislative consultant to the Florida Baptist State Convention (Southern Baptist Convention Churches), among other churches and entities. He has served as the legislative consultant to the Florida Baptist State Convention for the last 29 years at the state capitol in Tallahassee. By the Grace of his Lord Jesus, he is today a cancer survivor diagnosed in 2018 with AML Leukemia, having successfully undergone a bone marrow transplant that same year.
