There have been sexual harassment scandals in Tallahassee, and all other state capitols no doubt for decades.

Florida State Senator and gubernatorial candidate Jack Latvala stands accused by multiple women for inappropriate sexual harassment behavior. He has been “temporarily” removed from his budget chairmanship by Senate President Joe Negron, pending an independent, outside counsel investigation into the allegations. 

Latvala denies all allegations.

So far all of the women making the claims remain anonymous. If they currently work within the legislative process in Tallahassee, I can understand why they do not want to reveal their identities.

To be clear, there should be zero tolerance for inappropriate sexual harassment.

But as Attorney General Pam Bondi points out, Senator Latvala has yet to face his accusers. She is calling on them to come forward.

And until that happens or the special counsel’s finding is complete, Senator Latvala, or any other person, deserves to have public opinion withheld until the facts are in.
