Few situations in life rival losing all or part of one's home or business to a natural catastrophe. Floridians understand hurricanes pose an annual risk to life and property.
This year was incredibly challenging, as two hurricanes impacted our state in a matter of days. The devastation was extensive. Property owners were stunned by the widespread damage.
In their time of need, they looked to FEMA to come to their aid. Sadly, we are learning that FEMA played politics, the politics of Trump-hating, by skipping aid assistance to Trump supporters.
As a result, FEMA Director Deanne Criswell was summoned to Congress to explain how this could have happened.
But no matter what her testimony reveals, nothing less than an independent Inspector General conducting a top-to-bottom investigation of this atrocity will suffice to get to the ugly truth.
