I very much appreciate the retailers who stayed closed on Thanksgiving Day, even if their doors opened wide at the arrival of Black Friday midnight.
Each year, I have criticized retailers with their eye-catching “super deals’ only available on Thanksgiving Day as a significant disruptor of family gatherings across America.
To their credit, many retailers realize they can make as much over a three-day weekend blitz than stretching it into four days.
Retail employees are also blessed by spending Thanksgiving with their families.
Now, my annual word of caution.
Be aware of unique items made just for Black Friday pricing. Look closely at the specs and fine print to be sure you are indeed getting that super screaming deal.
And don’t overspend, setting yourself up for plastic surgery on your credit cards in January.
