Today is Cyber Monday.
Cyber Monday joins Black Friday and Small Business Saturday as a buying catalyst in the phenomenon created by the nation’s marketers.
Cyber Monday became a part of the American experience in 2005. The National Retail Federation began the marketing campaign to motivate consumers to shop online, not just at stores on Black Friday.
Last year, Americans spent more than $1 trillion online. Today is the biggest e-commerce day in America. A drop in business productivity is always suspected today as many employees secretly shop online at their office desks.
Be careful about that incredible bargain you are considering today. Some items are deeply discounted as screaming deals only to make room for next year’s updated versions.
And beware of online scams out there. Cyber thieves are everywhere. Don’t get stung.
