The COVID-19 pandemic continues to add days, weeks, and months to its ravaging destruction on so many levels.
Our first reaction draws to the number of deaths it has taken. Next is the increasing number of patients in hospitals and ICU units, followed by the daily number of cases.
But let’s not forget the other causalities of this scourge: the frontline healthcare works whose mental health is suffering significant fatigue.
These heroes have given so much as they have cared for critically ill and dying patients for months. It is an overwhelming ordeal that is likely to have aftereffects for years.
Let’s not forget the sacrifices of our healthcare workers. Remember to pray for them individually and don’t overlook an opportunity to show your appreciation in very tangible ways.
