In the course of my professional duties at Salem Radio and in Tallahassee, I am called to monitor legislative proceedings, press conferences, and debates, which are usually routine and mundane activities.
But the Wednesday night News Nation Republican Debate was a very pleasant surprise, not routine or mundane. It was the best Republican Presidential debate so far by a country mile. The all-female panel asked insightful questions and allowed the candidates to debate and argue amongst themselves on each topic.
In fact, it was the best educational evening Americans could watch to be informed about the plethora of problematic issues facing our nation.
Former President Trump was absent but the clear winner, with Governor DeSantis best in show in this final debate before Iowa’s caucus.
Cable TV’s News Nation hit a Gram Slam.
Bill Bunkley is a 17-year veteran Salem Media talk show host based in Tampa. The Bill Bunkley Show airs weekdays across central Florida from 3 to 6 pm. Bill is also President of the Florida Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, which serves as the legislative consultant to the Florida Baptist State Convention (Southern Baptist Convention Churches), among other churches and entities. He has served as the legislative consultant to the Florida Baptist State Convention for the last 27 years at the state capitol in Tallahassee. By the Grace of his Lord Jesus, he is today a cancer survivor diagnosed in 2018 with AML Leukemia, having successfully undergone a bone marrow transplant that same year. His wife is Toni, son is Zac, and they attend Idlewild Baptist Church.
