Public school Report cards are out for the year 2022-2023; not all Florida counties hit the excellent mark.
The Florida Department of Education has a new report card system they developed with educators and stakeholders. It is promoted as a tool to help teachers, students, and parents with actionable data to evaluate their public schools.
The new evaluation replaces the controversial student testing method with a monitoring system designed to measure a county’s effectiveness in teaching.
How did your county score?
Only Sarasota County received an A. Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Manatee, and Citrus counties got a B. Polk, Highlands, and Hardee received a C.
There’s room for improvement at most schools.

Bill Bunkley is a 17-year veteran Salem Media talk show host based in Tampa. The Bill Bunkley Show airs weekdays across central Florida from 3 to 6 pm.
