“Air Travel: Not Enough Planes for Years to Come”

Southwest Airlines’ meltdown this week is drawing enormous attention to commercial passenger aviation here and abroad.

As China is opening back up after complete COVID shutdowns and air travel is coming back at breakneck speed, there are not enough operational passenger aircrafts available to meet the demand.

Because of increased demand, future ticket prices will experience an upward trajectory.

Both Boeing and Airbus are enjoying hundreds of new orders. The backlog of combined orders is about 12,720 planes. In fact, they are sold out until 2029. And supply chain issues are delaying every order in process, delaying some aircraft deliveries two years later than expected.

So, for the next few years, be prepared to fly in older aircraft, which means more maintenance delays and fewer daily connections to your destinations.
