Today is the day when the state’s political power players all convene in one spot.
It is the start of the 60-day session of the Florida Legislature which by custom also is a time when both the House and Senate meet in a joint session to hear the state of the state address from Governor Rick Scott.
The political intrigue is supercharged this time in the House Chamber as the Governor, and the Speaker of the House Richard Corcoran have not shall we say, been getting along so great lately.
And Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam will be watched closely as he’s a projected front-runner to replace Governor Scott in a couple of years due to term limits. But remember that Speaker Corcoran has his eyes on the governor’s office as well.
It’s going to be very interesting to watch.
