The U. S. House with the prompting of President Donald Trump is poised to move quickly with the Obamacare Repeal and Replacement plan.

With gridlock having been the hallmark of past Congresses, there is understandable pressure for the Republicans who are in control of both chambers to deliver prompt conservative results.

And there is no doubt that a solution must be agreed upon sooner rather than later as renewals or applications for a new healthcare plan must be ready for the fall.

But I caution, there are cumbersome rules particularly in the U. S. Senate for new legislation that if not considered, would doom getting healthcare reform this year. The current House proposal would move through what is known as budget reconciliation, which provides an opportunity for replacement in a matter of months, not years.          

Remember: failure is not an option.
