“Saluting the American Worker”
It’s Labor Day Weekend.
The extended weekend marks one of the oldest rites of passage as we salute the heartbeat of our nation, the American worker.
This weekend also marks the official end of summer, time for our adjustment back to the routines of life.
What’s so special about Labor Day?
It recognizes our early agricultural workers who grew and exported cotton and tobacco, those who worked on Henry Ford’s revolutionizing assembly line, the fuel for the industrial revolution. We remember the women who built World War II airplanes, jeeps, and tanks on long production lines.
Today it’s those who work in the service industry. Their contributions and economic impact are vital components contributing to the economic strength of America.
We give thanks to our past and present workers, the heartbeat of America.
