Bill Bunkley’s “This Is Something to Think About
Air Date Tuesday, July 14, 2026
It was a “shock.”
That was the word that rang out across America on Sunday morning: South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham had passed.
His life story is about Americana and the American dream.
Born on the 9th of July 1955, he spent his early years living upstairs of his family’s pool hall and bar. He was the first member of his family to attend college, earning a law degree in 1981. In college, his parents passed away at about the same time, and he adopted and raised his younger sister, Darline.
He was a U. S. Air Force veteran of more than three decades. As a sitting Senator, he served in the Air Force Reserve.
In 1998, he won a South Carolina seat in the U. S. House, followed by his election to the Senate in 2003.
Tomorrow, I'll look back at his values and worldview principles.
