What a week.

Just a few days ago we wrapped up our Celebrate 250 broadcast from the heart of Times Square, and I have to tell you—it was everything we hoped it would be. Americans from every walk of life gathered to celebrate this remarkable nation as we continue the march toward her 250th birthday. If you watched, listened, or prayed for us, thank you. The celebration continues in this week’s issue of That Passport Life as we take you inside The Great American State Fair in Washington, D.C.—one of the signature events of America 250. If you’re looking for a patriotic getaway this summer, you’ll want to put this one at the top of your list.

The festivities aren’t slowing down here either. On July 4, I’ll have the privilege of providing color commentary for Sail4th 250 as more than 300 tall ships parade through New York Harbor in what promises to be one of the most spectacular maritime celebrations our country has ever seen. I hope you’ll join us for this once-in-a-generation event.

I’m also incredibly grateful to share that our work has been nominated for two Awards for Excellence. It’s humbling recognition, but the real reward continues to be knowing that so many of you choose to spend part of your week reading, listening, watching, and traveling alongside us.

Travel season is officially underway, and Aimee has assembled what we believe is the definitive Travel Essentials Guide for 2026. These aren’t trendy gadgets—we actually use them. They make every trip easier, more organized, and a whole lot more enjoyable.
