 Our Salem Radio Tampa Bay & Sarasota Florida News Director Roger P. Schulman recently reported on a story that a new study indicated that the internet is not only dangerous to your health but to your pocketbook as well.

 Statistics point to an alarming increase in the number of distracted drivers that are typing away on their smartphones while they are behind the wheel of a moving vehicle.

 Many are having accidents in the process: including those involving injuries as well as deaths.

 And that dangerous distraction is racking up a sharp spike in auto insurance accident payouts, which will lead to a huge increase in your next auto insurance premium notice when the notice hits your mailbox.  

 So the next time you look over to someone typing and driving, thank them for raising your auto insurance premiums.
