Are you getting sick and tired of being sick and tired of all the scam cell phone calls and text messages you're getting? Do you wish something could be done about it?

Well, in Florida, State Attorney General James Uthmier is calling on legislators to act.

He wants stiffer penalties for the scams, including felony charges in some cases.

We used to call them robocalls, automatic dialers making hundreds of thousands of phone and text solicitation calls a day.

Now scammers use AI technology, impersonation, and fake warrant contacts.

The new “Florida Anti-Spam Communications Act,” if adopted, would move high-volume or high-loss cases to the felony level.

I urge the next legislative session to take up and pass this much-needed legislation. Facing felony jail time will curb these scammers.
