“Tampa Bay Rays About to Make History Again”

Bill Bunkley’s “This Is Something to Think About

Air Date Tuesday, September 22, 2026

The last 60 days have been remarkable for the Tampa Bay Rays. Since recently being acquired by a new ownership group, the Rays have seen their fortunes multiply in many ways.

A brand-new ballpark has been approved in Tampa, creating a future sports destination of hotels, restaurants, and retail shops within walking distance of Raymond James Stadium and George Steinbrenner Field.

And the boys of summer are one game away from clinching the MLB American Eastern Division Championship in New York, as they face a double-header with storied Yankees today, followed by two more games with the Bronx Bombers Wednesday and Thursday.

The Rays will probably complete the championship journey at Yankee Stadium.

It's been a fun ride so far with a World Series Championship run in sight.

Let’s Go Rays!!
