President Trump called for an event on the National Mall on Sunday, “Rededicate 250: National Day of Jubilee of Prayer, Praise & Thanksgiving.”
It’s a nine-hour free Christian worship and prayer festival leading up to our nation’s 250th anniversary. A full day of events that runs from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
The day's program focuses on three pillars: the miracles that made us, the miracles still in our midst, and a new birth of faith and freedom.
Some scholars say the Bible was the most consequential document utilized by the Founding Fathers in the formation of both the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution. Judeo-Christian principles are evident throughout.
Count me in that camp.
It’s why this celebration is so fitting and our country so special.
Bill Bunkley is a 20-year veteran Salem Media talk show host based in Tampa. The Bill Bunkley Show airs on weekdays from 3 to 5 pm across central Florida. Bill is also President of the Florida Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission and the legislative consultant to the Florida Baptist State Convention (Southern Baptist Convention Churches), among other churches and entities. He has served as the legislative consultant to the Florida Baptist State Convention for the last 30 years at the state capitol in Tallahassee. By the Grace of his Lord Jesus, he is a cancer survivor diagnosed in 2018 with AML Leukemia, having successfully undergone a bone marrow transplant that same year. In 2025, he underwent successful open-heart surgery to repair a heart valve. His wife is Toni, his son is Zac, and he attends Idlewild Baptist Church.
