“AI is Dangerously Out of Control- Must Be Reined in Now”

I have been commenting on air for weeks about the quickly developing Artificial Intelligence race, AI, and the potentially catastrophic risks of letting it escape human supervision.

Some predict runaway AI could wipe out mankind by the end of the decade.

All 3 of the top AI developers are concerned and recommend slowing development immediately, admitting they don’t have answers on how to put guardrails in place to keep it contained.

China is in the race for AI supremacy as well; memory of the Nuclear Arms Race conjures up similar feelings of unease. If the US slows down development, one wonders what China will do. 

This is not a hoax; this is not science fiction.

It’s a real-world threat we must address right now.

And we must earnestly pray to contain it.

Bill Bunkley is a 20-year veteran Salem Media talk show host based in Tampa. The Bill Bunkley Show airs on weekdays from 3 to 5 pm across central Florida. Bill is also President of the Florida Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission and the legislative consultant to the Florida Baptist State Convention (Southern Baptist Convention Churches), among other churches and entities.
