“Governor DeSantis: GOP Could Lose Florida House Supermajority”
Bill Bunkley’s “This Is Something to Think About”
Air Date Friday, December 5, 2025
Earlier this week, I cautioned you on-air that the Tuesday results in the Tennessee Congressional District 17 race could be signaling issues for the Republican Party.
Yesterday, Governor Ron DeSantis expressed the same observation.
He thinks Republicans in the Florida House could lose their supermajority status.
DeSantis believes there are Trump-specific voters who, as evident in Tennessee, will not vote and, more importantly, will not turn out in the midterm elections next year for the Republicans, now that Trump will not be on the ballot. Marginal GOP districts will be in play.
That’s why I’ve been talking about for months, that Florida Republicans in the Legislature and Governor DeSantis must present a unified front and cut out the party infighting.
